We have sponsored a little girl, Miriam, in Guatemala for 3 years. For some unknown reason, we received a letter a few weeks ago saying that Miriam's family decided to disenroll her from the program. That made me so sad! She will now be missing out on the great opportunities to hear about the Lord and to receive much needed financial and educational assistance. We will continue to pray for Miriam and her family. Yesterday, we received our new sponsorship packet. We now have a little girl named Maria. She is also from Guatemala--our son was adopted from there so we like having that connection. What I want to do this time is to do a lot better with our correspondence. We honestly were not as good as we could have been with writing to Miriam. Our goal will be to write at least once a month and for the kids to make her pictures. Compassion has made this even easier by adding online letter writing and picture uploading. I want Maria to be more than a photo on a card. I want her to feel like a member of our family. We will do better than we did before.
